How does teeth whitening work
The whitening gel contains an active ingredient called Carbamide Peroxide. The Carbamide Peroxide degrades in the mouth to release oxygen. The oxygen reacts with the organic stains and discolouration on the teeth, oxidizing them, which makes the teeth whiter without damaging them. Artificial teeth and fillings are not affected by whitening.
To whiten your teeth, you need two mouth trays (one for the teeth in the upper jaw and one for the lower) that fit your teeth perfectly. You also need whitening gel with the active substance, Carbamide Peroxide, which acts as a whitening agent. The mouth trays are heated in warm water and placed over the teeth in order to create a precise impression of your teeth. A small quantity of whitening gel is applied inside each tooth impression in the mouth tray. Each mouth tray should remain in the mouth for approximately 30-120 minutes each time. How long does teeth whitening take
